Electronic Water Meter Reader

Unique Features

These are devices connected to a water meter meter by wire. There are Two classes of remote readers, Encoder based and Pulse based. Encoder meters have an electronic capable register that can be interrogated by an external device to determine the reading from the register odometer wheels or electronic read.

We can supply the VL-9 LCD remote for most encoder based output meters. Pulse output registers put out an incremental pulse with each fixed number of gallons or cubic feet Pulse can be an electrically generated pulse from a powered register, or a contact switch closure with the pulse generated from the reading device through a loop design.

By special order, we can supply readers and counters for pulse output devices. Touch meter reading is where the meter with typically an encoder register has a wire going to a remote magnetic coil. A touch reader sends a burst of energy to the meter by electromagnetic induction (similar to wireless phone charging), and the encoder responds with the reading and serial number.

the reader then displays and sometimes saves that reading in a database. AMR stands for Automatic Meter Reading where meters are ready in walk by or drive by mode with a Radio transmitter attached to meter and a radio receiver held by the meter reader or mounted in a vehicle. The Kamstrup READy AMR system or the Kamstrup USB Reader are an examples of this. Smart home technology continues to become more common in homes around the world. As a result, smart utility management has improved, specifically with water meter readings. Water meter reading apps help homeowners and businesses to monitor and manage their water usage better than ever before, reducing the amount of wasted water and saving money almost immediately.

With Anyline’s mobile scanning technology, your customers and workforce can read water meters by scanning meters from their mobile devices. Here is an example of how simple the process can be. When it’s time to collect a meter reading, the company contacts the customer, who scans abarcode, such as a QR code, on the side of their meter with their mobile device.

  • This starts the collection process.
  • The customer then simply scans their utility meter using Anyline meter reading, checks the reading is correct, and then submits it.
  • The whole process takes under one minute. This is a significantly more efficient and accurate alternative to traditional processes, and provides a much better user experience for customers, allowing them to take control of their water usage.
  • Mobile water meter scanning is also highly accurate, quick, and simple to perform, improving the overall user experience.
  • But don’t just take our word for it. If you want to quickly test out Anyline meter reading, download our free Energy and Water app today to read analog and digital meters.
  • Other than electricity, water submetering is also very common, but water submeters are also essential when it comes to resource management.
  • A digital water meter is designed with the electronics built into the unit with an LCD as its display unit, it is also equipped with digital output interface; because the digital output is consistent with the LCD display, this type of water meter is also known as direct reading water meter.
  • These digital water meters has digital output interface, they are available in various sizes from one-half inch up to eight inches and there are both cold and hot water versions.
  • Designed with a slot for a lead seal, and arrow indicating the flow direction.

Introduction

  • The battery is built in and no external power source is needed; as such they can continuously register the consumption even when the power is interrupted ensuring that nothing is missed.
  • Digital water meters have higher resolution than pulse-output water meters.
  • Leakage detection is a very important feature and can be detected when the water flows continuously and uninterrupted for the entire day.
