Itron Smart Meter Dangers

Posted on  by admin

Recently, I had the opportunity to measure the RF Radiation coming from an ITRON C1SR in Summerland BC and the results were quite alarming. This is an AMR type of meter. This type of meter has been reported to being used in Nelson and Grand Forks BC. This C1SR meter transmits a spike of radiation that contains the current kWh reading of the meter every 30 seconds. This is done so that a Meter Reader with a receiver can drive by any time and can get the reading without having to wait very long. This time between transmits may be changed by the operator but they have to walk up to the meter and use a direct connection to the meter to do that. It seems that the meters in Grand Forks are also transmitting at 30 second intervals. The measurements that I made from the front of the meter in Summerland at a distance of 2 meters ranged from 500 to almost 900 microwatts per square meter ( µW/m²).

This, is quite high when measured at 2m. The radiation at 1m would be significantly higher. If this meter were on the side of a house next to a bedroom or kitchen then I would be very concerned. I used a GigaHertz HF59B radiation meter and recorded the output on a GigaHertz NFA1000.

Here is what I recorded:. You can see that all spikes were not the same power (I do not know why) but the spacing was almost exactly 30 seconds. I have also recorded the output of Itron Smart Meters and found that the radiation spikes were similar in strength (amplitude) but the number of spikes were significantly less than the C1SR meters.

Thus, if you believe that each spike from a digital meter is harmful and the radiation damage is cumulative, then you must conclude that the Itron C1SR and similar AMR meters are capable of serious health impact similar to that of Smart Meters. 1) Jerry Flynn shares a letter he has written to Dr. Paul Hasselback, Vancouver Island Health Officer, about the lack of training given to doctors about EHS. In fact, few are given any training about any health effects caused by RF exposure.

Until recently, no medical school provided any such classes, but there is one at the University of Alberta Med School, taught by Dr. Stephen Genuis. This leaves most of the new physicians, and very few of older doctors, to never learn anything about the RF issue. It has been left to us to try to educate our doctors.

It is the College of Physicians and Surgeons, as far as I know, that is supposed to provide clinics and information to help keep the doctors up to date on topics, treatment, etc. Why aren’t they providing opportunities to educate doctors about EHS and RF-related health problems? I doubt that the College would listen to non-doctors, but it might get their attention if they received info about what is going on, what the science is, and what doctors don’t know.

They can be contacted via an online form at:. 2) It is difficult to understand how the Federal Minister of Health, or our provincial authorities, can say there is no evidence of harmful effects when there are nearly 24,000 peer reviewed studies summarized on one website.

There have been studies done by various governments since the 1950s when military personnel suffered “radiation sickness” after working with radar, etc. The only reasonable assumption we can make is that the industry’s tentacles are too strong and reach too far into the agencies that are supposed to protect us. The EMF-Portal is an extensive literature database with an inventory of 23,675 publications and 5,823 summaries of individual peer reviewed scientific studies on the effects of electromagnetic fields.

Dangers of Smart Meters: Know the Truth

How much more evidence do we need when School Officials, Health Officers and Government Officials are unable to provide parents with ONE STUDY that says microwave radiation exposure is safe for children and the unborn? 3) Apparently, Ottawa (Measurements Canada) has been given approval for “poverty meters” – meters where people feed them like parking meters and when the time is used up, so is the power. This is the first I’ve heard of it, but apparently there is a chance (just a couple of weeks) for some comments.

What Can I Do about Electropollution?

A member in Ontario sent this to me. I hope you will provide comments because this would open the door for this sort of metering to be in BC for those who might be considered credit risks. (1) I think this is the consultation Gallant referred to: Maybe this is part of the background (I don’t know): (2) And here’s a consultation period that just ended Sept 30, 2016:

Smart Meter Dangers FAQs

Introduction of mandatory reporting of electricity and natural gas meter populations and meter inspection data. This should be no surprise to Ontario residents who are all too familiar with the close political party relationship between Ottawa and Toronto. Federal Agency Measurement Canada is preparing to finalize approval for “pre-pay” hydro meters. This was only a matter of time since the province installed so-called “smart meters” in people’s homes.

What I predicted before the last election is now happening. I predicted that all Canadian taxpayers would end up with part of the bill for Ontario Liberals’ policy disasters. It was predictable because the same policy advisers in Queen’s Park, who wrote the “Greed” Energy Act and fled Toronto, are now hiding in Ottawa as the most senior advisers of the federal Liberal Party.

  • The cozy relationship between the Prime Minister and the Ontario Premier is bad for all taxpayers, just as I warned Canadians before the last election.

  • To picture a pre-payment electricity meter, just think of a parking meter that you load with money in order to park a vehicle.

  • These are popular in third-world countries, particularly where poor people have no access to credit. They enable the power utilities to deny access to a basic necessity without actually having to pull the plug if customers have trouble with bills.

It forces the poor household to self-disconnect. Canadians still have an opportunity to share their opinion on poverty meters. While the federal government has set a January 1st 2017 implementation date for its new policy, you are invited to provide me your thoughts on pre-payment electricity meters.

Remember, ‘no comment’ is considered by this government to be a “yes.”. 4) A retired member is seeking accommodation on Vancouver Island. He is sensitive, environmentally responsible. If you have something available, please email him at: [email protected]

5) An Electrical Engineer is a licensed professional whose actions are governed by a code – that they must advise when they find something that is dangerous. An Electrical Engineer in Michigan has reported on the dangers of the ITRON meter being considered in Michigan.

He has found causes for health issues – thousands of short signals and dirty electricity – and causes for fires.

There are other Electrical Engineers who have identified many other design flaws. Hopefully, they will speak out so that we can charge BC Hydro and this government with harmful negligence or reckless endangerment.

“It actually sends an RF pulse about every 4-5 seconds constantly and a longer duration RF emission after midnight running about 3-5 minutes. There is no need for the AMI meter to send a pulse every 4-5 seconds all day just to synchronize and time stamp the clock inside the meter, the meter only needs to send data once a day for 3-5 minutes.

All these pulse transmissions the AMI meter is doing is a complete waste of energy and because it is a short but frequently pulsing signal that is not needed to measure power consumption, it is creating needless health effects and is impacting consumers as evidenced in the testimony.

  • Some consumers have been affected to the point of near death experiences.

  • The Mesh Network design is saturating the environment with RF transmissions mostly for the purpose of the network synchronization not the consumption measurement of power.

  • I could not think of a worse network design for a power measurement device.”.

From: Jerry FlynnSent: October 12, 2016To:[email protected] Subject: Corruption! Health Canada, the WHO and ICNIRP are NOT protecting Canadians from ‘pulsed’ N0N-thermal RF radiation! Tragically, the only hospital in Canada where doctors are specially trained to diagnose and treat patients with electro-hypersensitivity (“EHS”) is the Women’s College Hospital in Toronto.

This whole electro-magnetic radiation (EMR) or, as it is better known, Electric-Magnetic Field (“EMF”) issue, is linked by NON-industry scientists around the world to virtually all of today’s ‘modern’ diseases and epidemics, e.g., leukemia, many other forms of cancer, autism, ADHD, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s ALS, etc.

Yet, because North America’s mainstream media has seen fit to remain silent on this whole issue for the past 50 years, today’s physicians remain largely unware of EMFs (or EHS), which now literally threaten the health and well-being of every person – and living thing – on planet earth!

The following was sent to the key Government of Canada officials.

Hopefully, you will see fit to share this with other Health Authorities in BC.

It is the truth!

Subject: Corruption!

Health Canada, the WHO and ICNIRP are NOT protecting Canadians from ‘pulsed’ N0N-thermal RF radiation!

When will the Government of Canada stop today’s worst-ever case of corruption, which is also the most harmful ever – not just to people, but to all living things?

Beginning in the late 1970s, the corruption today is pandemic and involves Health Canada’s ‘Radiation Protection Bureau’, their colleagues in Industry Canada, the R.

Samuel McLaughlin Research Centre, the WHO (World Health Organization), ICNIRP (the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection) and the US-Military dominated ICES (International Committee on Electromagnetic Safety) – none of whom is protecting – or ever has protected – Canadians from man-made “low-level pulsed, NON-thermal Radio Frequency radiation” or Extremely Low Frequency (or Powerline 60 Hz) radiation.

Scientists around the world say this is now a global crisis!

When will the Government of Canada direct the RCMP to conduct a thorough and comprehensive national criminal investigation of this, what truly is, an outrageous ‘crime against humanity’?

In the interim, I respectfully urge the Minister of Health to impose the “Precautionary Principle” on:.

1) all wireless radio products/devices – including baby monitors and ‘smart’ meters; and,.

2) on all new or proposed Extremely Low Frequency (or Powerline 6 Hz alternating current) electrical apparatus, devices, installations etc.

The attachment contains more than ample evidence to support all that is said above.

Sincerely,James Gerald (“Jerry”) Flynn, Captain (retired).

Smart sounds good, doesn’t it?

We have smartphones that rarely leave our hands and smart meters on our homes sending data to our utility companies.

We have smart speakers that are always listening, which can play music on command or place a delivery order for dinner.

We are surrounded by brilliant technology that makes our lives easier.

These devices may be smart, however, how smart are we to use them?

They communicate constantly through electromagnetic fields and radiofrequency waves that flow all around us.

However, just like you want to drink clean water, breathe clean air, eat organic food and use clean body products, you’ll also want to secure a clean “electronic” environment too.

Let’s take a closer look at what a smart meter actually is and what the experts are saying.

Then you can decide if you should be concerned about smart meter dangers and how they affect your health.

1.What is a Smart Meter? 6.How Can I Make a Difference? 7.Smart Meter Dangers FAQs. We know about smartphones and other household conveniences, yet what is a smart meter, and should you be concerned about smart meter dangers? Most of us use electricity provided by an electric co-op or utility, and we have a meter on our home that measures usage.

Traditionally, this is an analog meter that’s read monthly or bimonthly by an employee of the utility company. The smart meter, also called an Advanced Meter Installation (AMI), is a two-way device used by utility companies to measure energy usage in your home. It’s mounted on the outside of your home like a traditional meter and is more common in newer homes. No one has to come to read your meter because the meter sends data about your usage to the electric company.

It does this quite frequently. As often as every 15 minutes, in fact. They use radiofrequency (RF) waves, a form of electromagnetic energy, to transmit energy consumption data to a central computer at the utility company.

These RF waves move through space at the speed of light. The transmissions are sent using a method of communication based on either a cell phone, pager, satellite, radio, power line (PLC), WiFi or Internet (TCP/IP).

Utility companies first started using smart meters in Europe and now the practice has spread to the US. In fact, more than 43 million smart meters have been installed in homes and businesses in the US alone since 2012.1 This number is quickly rising thanks in large part to our government’s Smart Grid investment of $3.4 billion in 2009. A further 115 million smart meter deployments are projected by the end of 2021, meaning more than 75% of American homes will be exposed to smart meter dangers.2.

Those of you who are familiar with my work as a functional medicine physician know that I always advocate that we can take back control of our health.

This includes informing ourselves as best we can about smart meter dangers. I want to ensure you are aware of the information available on smart meter dangers.

This way you can make informed decisions regarding your home environment, as I have recently done. One fact that cannot be ignored is that smart meters emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR) in the form of radiofrequency radiation, which is a byproduct of radiofrequency waves.

No one disclaims this as one of the largest smart meter dangers. RF radiation was classified in 2011 by the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), as “possibly carcinogenic (cancer-causing) to humans.” Furthermore, there is no data that shows RF radiation is safe. In fact, no one has conducted health studies on humans living in homes with smart meters.

The World Health Organization is planning a formal assessment of the health effects from RF exposure, however, this report is not yet available. People with smart meters in their homes have reported a sudden increase in dizziness, ear pain, memory problems, heart palpitations, anxiety, and sleep problems.

We do know that exposure to large amounts of RF radiation as a result of accidents involving radar has caused severe burns.

Whether in large or small amounts, RF radiation has adverse effects on your health.

The US safety limit for RF radiation is 1,000 micro-watts per meter squared.

However, it’s not uncommon for some smart meters to produce up to 60 times this amount.

That means the radiation from smart meters is equivalent to the output of 160 wireless devices such as cell phones.

And smart meters are continuously transmitting data and producing RF radiation in and around your home.

The amount of RF energy exposure depends on how far the smart meter mounted on a building is from the smart meter antenna.

However, there are simple ways you can protect yourself and your family from smart meter dangers.

I’ll explain these after I talk about something called dirty electricity, which you can definitely clean up in your household.

Most of our wireless devices and electronics are powered by direct current (DC) at about 12 volts.

However, our modern electrical circuits use alternating current (AC) at 120 or 240 volts.

Our electronic devices have to convert the AC power to DC power.

This conversion creates dirty electricity in the form of erratic electromagnetic interference (EMI) which is also a type of ionizing radiation such as RF. This dirty electricity travels through your home’s electrical system and radiates into the environment through outlets, power strips, wireless devices, and electronics, polluting your environment with “electropollution.”3 Smart meters exacerbate this problem by contributing significantly to the levels of dirty electricity in a home.

This is due to the repeated spikes and surges of higher frequencies of electricity that run throughout every circuit of a home with a smart meter.

Electropollution can travel through the air at a high frequency, contaminating every room in your house.

However, the good news is that just as we would filter our air, we can filter out electropollution and protect ourselves from smart meter dangers.

Smart Meter Electropollution can trigger Autoimmune Symptoms – Infographic – Amy Myers MD®Dr.

Amy MyersJanuary 12th, 2020 Meter Electropollution can trigger Autoimmune Symptoms – Infographic – Amy Myers MD®.

If you ask your utility company if a smart meter impacts your health, you’ll likely be told there is no health risk.

We do not live in a perfect world, however, and the evidence behind smart meter dangers shows quite the opposite.

More and more scientific evidence — not mere speculation — links dirty electricity to a vast array of physical, emotional, and cognitive health problems.

According to the BioInitiative Working Group, more than 6,000 studies show the correlation of electromagnetic energy with harmful effects, chronic conditions, and disease.4.

There is also evidence that electropollution triggers an immune system response.

That’s because the body thinks the electrical fields are foreign invaders similar to bacteria and viruses.

As I’ve seen with thousands of patients in my functional medicine clinic, chronic inflammation leads to fatigue, cognitive problems, brain fog, irritability, anxiety, and memory loss.

It is the root cause of autoimmune disease.

In fact, chronic electrical exposure triggers symptoms that mirror those experienced in dozens of autoimmune diseases.5.

According to David O. Carpenter, MD, radiofrequency exposure at elevated levels for a long period of time increases the risk of cancer, damages the nervous system, and causes sensitivity. It also has adverse health effects on the reproductive system and other organ systems. In addition, it elevates the levels of peroxynitrite (a toxin made by your body), which is linked with over 60 chronic diseases.

According to the World Health Organization, tissue heating is the principal mechanism of interaction between radiofrequency energy and the human body. Sam Milham, MD has spent nearly thirty years researching the impact of electric and magnetic fields (EMFs). He links dirty electricity to cancer, heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s, and suicide. He also connects it with neurological disorders such as multiple sclerosis and Lou Gehrig’s disease. So far, Austria is the only country with a written suggestion for guidelines on the diagnosis and treatment of EMF-related health problems.

Globally, we have not yet conclusively solved — or even adequately studied — smart meter dangers. However, you can take control of your own health by cleaning up the electropollution in your home. Let me tell you how. You can easily do a few simple things that will clean up your environment and reduce your exposure to radiation from smart meters. I can assure you they’re pretty quick and easy because I’ve done them myself.

Wondering how to block smart meter radiation? First, call your utility company to find out if you have a smart meter.

Some states have an “opt out” program that will allow you to use a traditional meter for an additional fee each month.

I recommend you have your smart meter removed if you have one and replaced with a traditional meter if you can.

This is what I did after learning more about smart meter dangers.

If you cannot opt-out of having a smart meter, install a lining or RF blocking paint inside your home.

You can also install a smart meter guard, which is a cover you can place over your smart meter.

It’s made of a conductive metal mesh screen that will block 90% to 95% of the RF radiation emitted from the smart meter.

They are highly effective, not very expensive, and are very easy to install.

There are plenty of ways to eliminate much of the “dirty electricity” in your home, however the easiest step is to unplug items you aren’t actively using.

Simply turning items off isn’t always enough as many small appliances continue to draw power from the grid even when they’re not on.

First, you can help mobilize citizens to make a difference in a few ways.

Start informing your neighbors about smart meter dangers, and let them know that smart meters aren’t a must-have.

They’re simply a way for utility companies to eliminate jobs and have a minute-by-minute picture of how you use their products.

They’re not there for your health or your convenience!

The Myers Way® Facebook Community is a great place to discuss smart meter dangers with like-minded people who are also concerned about the safety of their home environments.

You can also tell your local, state, and federal representatives that you’re aware of smart meter dangers and don’t want smart meter services.

It’s primarily the government, not individuals, who determine if smart meters are installed.

States have Smart Grid Related Legislation.7 Find out what yours is, and take action.6 Find out what yours is, and take action.

Once you’ve removed your smart meter, the next step is to detoxify your body from RF, EMF, and EMR radiation exposure.

I recommend a glutathione supplement to support your body’s natural detoxification pathways.

Glutathione is your body’s master detoxifier.

No other nutrient works harder to detoxify your body.

Concentrated in your liver, glutathione is your body’s most important molecule when it comes to detoxifying heavy metals and toxins created by radio wave frequencies.

It also helps the body process and eliminate other toxins such as those found in plastics and conventional body products.

When you’re under stress or toxic burden, glutathione is rapidly depleted, so supplementation can be crucial in effectively mediating these challenges. Smart meters emit electromagnetic radiation in the form of radiofrequency radiation, which has been classified as “possibly carcinogenic (cancer-causing) for humans.” Furthermore, there has been no data that shows radiofrequency radiation is safe.

For this reason, it’s important to inform yourself of the dangers of smart meter radiation exposure in your home. Both smart meters and wireless devices emit RF radiation, however it is not uncommon for some smart meters to produce up to 60 times the US safety limit of 1,000 micro-watts per meter squared.

  • That means the radiation from smart meters is equivalent to the output of 160 wireless devices such as cell phones. If you’re wondering how to block smart meter radiation and can’t opt out of having a smart meter, there are RF blocking paints and smart meter guards that you can install to protect your home from smart meter radiation.
