Currently, our drainage data is not readily available to the public (except for drainage outfalls)- but can be made available upon request to our GIS services team. Our goal is to eventually make all of MassDOT’s drainage data public, where it would be available with the rest of our public data on MassDOT’s open data portal, which can be found here, and the drainage outfalls data viewer can be found here. Below you will find the schema MassDOT uses for our inspection forms (Catch basins and BMPs shown), which are completed in the field using ESRI’s CollectorApp. I recently helped put together a presentation on the advantages of using CollectorApp, which is also attached.
The presentation gives a good overview of the capabilities of the application as well as what the interface looks like. MassDOT uses CollectorApp now as an interim approach to meeting our good housekeeping requirements, because we will eventually be using VUEWorks.
